Following University, Jeremy joined the Unilever graduate scheme, working on Flora Margarine. This was followed by four years at General Foods (now Kraft), where he launched Kenco Instant Coffee, now the UK’s second most popular coffee brand. Desiring a return to his home town of London, Jeremy joined Tesco, as Marketing Manager for Chilled Foods – working on a portfolio of £1bn worth of products from cheese to milk to ready meals to yoghurt. This role really honed his NPD and multi-tasking skills. However, keen to apply his experience outside of food, Jeremy then spent four years at BT, the telecoms giant, where he thrived and introduced many new initiatives such as affinity marketing and BT TalkTime, a reward scheme similar to AirMiles but using BT minutes of calls as the currency.

A spell in Financial Services beckoned, as VP Marketing at MBNA Credit Cards, where he learnt direct marketing skills before a move back to FMCG as Promotions Director for North West Europe for Coca-Cola, where he worked on Euro2000 and Sydney Olympics campaigns. Then as European Marketing Director for Sega Europe, Jeremy ran multi-country campaigns for the most advanced games console ever built, but it was not to be. Deep price cutting by its arch rival, Playstation, led to the Japanese owners closing the business worldwide and Jeremy put into place a plan to set up his own company, which he did in 2002

 


The Early Years

The later years

From his own experience, Jeremy had seen that even the biggest and most organised brands often failed to run their promotions in a fair or compliant manner. Terms and conditions, if they existed at all, were often incomplete, and prize draws would be drawn by the office secretary in a very casual manner. The driving principle behind PromoVeritas was to help promoters to run promotions that were both legal and compliant in both concept and in execution. From those early days alone in the back room of his house, to the present day with its team of over 20 specialists in three office locations and over 220 active clients, Jeremy has sought fairness and integrity for both his clients and the end consumer.

Today


Nowadays Jeremy is to be found at his office in North London planning great promotions for some of the world's biggest brands.



Inside Jeremy – Pure and Simple


Whilst there is a place for research and detailed analysis, Jeremy relies on his instincts, carefully honed over the years. He believes that business should treat both customers and suppliers fairly and with respect at all times, and that training and support for staff is vital to the success of the company. An avid reader, Jeremy is a store of knowledge on a wide range of topics, and rarely without an opinion. In his spare time, Jeremy is curating a collection of ancient keys – some from the 1500’s. Often beautifully crafted, each of them carries a story; of the lock they were paired with, and the secrets that they hide.




Inside Jeremy – The Other Side


Jeremy comes from a family that has always been part of the wider community. His father was a Major in the Second World War before a successful career as an architect (as was his mother) designing a number of social housing projects. He was also a magistrate, chairman of various voluntary organisations and even stood as a Parliamentary Candidate. Charity is close to his heart, so Jeremy was a founding Trustee of Fresh Visions, a charity for the disadvantaged, and for the last seven years, a trustee of the National Osteoporosis Society, ending up in 2015/16 as Vice-Chairman. A passionate lover of London, Jeremy is married to Denise, a noted Cook and Food writer, and between them they have six children, so family life is never quiet !
